2024 HCBC Bee School

HCBC values educating the community. This year we are offering an introductory course where you will be invited to join our beekeeping community who values sharing information with each other!

  • The class discussion focuses on the historical interactions between bees and humans, as well as the present status of honeybees and their biology. Throughout the course, you will delve into the intricate world of bee biology and culture, exploring the dynamics among workers, drones, and the queen. Topics covered include hive health, exposure to different types of beekeeping equipment, various bee species, the associated costs of beekeeping and so much more!

    Additionally you will be:

  • Assisted in deciding if you want to become a beekeeper.

  • Prepared to set up a colony of bees.

  • Supported by local beekeepers.

  • Preparation for the Certification Exams of the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association’s Certification

  • Cost: $60 per person $80 for Families

    • Fees includes a thumb drive of course materials, course study book, first year membership in Hoke County Beekeepers Chapter and in NC State Beekeepers Association, written/practical exams to become a NC Certified Beekeeper, and mentoring throughout the year.
