HCBC values educating the community. This year we are offering an introductory course where you will be invited to join our beekeeping community who values sharing information with each other!

  • Thinking About Beekeeping? Here's What You'll Learn:

    • Is Beekeeping for You? Get a realistic look at the time, money, physical ability, and equipment needed to successfully keep honey bees today.

    • Understanding the Commitment: Learn why honey bees need regular care to survive current threats like pests and pesticides.

    • Where Can You Keep Bees? Discover suitable locations for your hives.

    • Getting Started: If you decide to take the plunge, we'll cover the essential first steps.

    • Support & Resources: Find out about the assistance available to new beekeepers.

    • Defining Your Goals: Understand why seriously thinking about your purpose for keeping bees is crucial, especially if you're working with others.

    Additionally you will be:

  • Assisted in deciding if you want to become a beekeeper.

  • Supported by local beekeepers.

  • Location: Robert A. Wright Hoke County Agricultural Center, 645 E. Palmer St. Raeford NC 28376
